In 2023, Wuqing district welcomed various bases, including Tianjin University's Synthetic Biology Industry Cluster, Beijing University of Chemical Technology's Industry-University-Research Base, and the Nutrition Source Project of Beijing Academy of Science and Technology. Four new municipal-level enterprise technology centers were added, bringing the total number of companies to 50 in the region.
In addition, Wuqing has strengthened the collaborative support for the industrial chains of automotive and new energy vehicles, intelligent robots, biopharmaceuticals, and big data applications in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. A total of 151 key industrial projects were newly established, with a planned investment of 8.16 billion yuan (about $1.14 billion).
Meanwhile, intelligent and green development promotes Wuqing enterprises to prosper.
In China Tianjin Wuqing Development Area, the factories have achieved digitalization in the production process and energy management through intelligent systems. Unmanned, efficient, and traceable production processes have been achieved, greatly improving production and energy utilization efficiencies.
In the year 2023, Wuqing district saw three new intelligent factories and 11 digital workshops. In addition, there are currently a total of 12 national-level green factories and 19 municipal-level green factories in the district, ranking second in Tianjin.
