Due to the approaching Spring Festival – the traditional Chinese New Year which falls on Feb 10 this year – several Spring Festival shopping fairs have recently opened in Hexiwu town and Gaocun town, Tianjin's Wuqing district.
Distinctive agricultural products, local characteristic delicacies, and festival decorations including red lanterns and Spring Festival couplets, were the most popular commodities, attracting numerous locals as well as tourists from Beijing to come and select their favorites for the upcoming holiday.
These shopping fairs aimed to showcase Wuqing's agricultural and featured products and further stimulate local consumption. The shopping fairs contributed significantly to rural revitalization, and increased the popularity of Wuqing as a shopping destination.
